Kravestorm Core Set releases December 21

After an intensive year of prototypes, rewrites, broken cards and a ridiculous amount of playtesting, Kravestorm finally has an official release date. The Core Set will release on December 21, 2026, the Winter Solstice.
The date is not random. Kravestorm sets are planned around the changes of season, so the Core Set will start that schedule on the winter solstice. Future sets are planned around the following equinoxes and solstices, which gives the game a pretty natural rhythm for new releases.
The Core Set contains 127 cards and is basically the foundation everything after it will build on. It takes place in Basinios, where the five Capitals of Nopinas, Helissucre, Trelassen, Varksidion and Festurat are fighting for power while Kravers are drawn toward them by their favorite Nekthar. This is also the set that establishes the first five Nekthar types of the game, leaving Opiux and Qrotein out of the equation for now.
In numbers, the set includes 60 Kravers, 24 Upgrades, 15 Whispers, 13 Actions and five playable Capitals, together with their Capital-Nekthery and Capital-Alpha Nekthery cards. It also introduces 10 keywords, 7 Soma types and 14 species. That's a lot of moving pieces, and pretty much all of them have been rewritten, rebalanced or completely replaced at some point.
The release will be 100% Print-and-Play. There are no randomized boosters or cards hidden behind different products. December 21 is when the complete starting card pool becomes available as the actual Core Set, and from there the plan is to keep expanding it with new sets.
Until then two demo decks (Nopinas Control and Varksidion Forever) are available for everyone to try and they are designed to provide a very solid introduction to the world of Kravestorm.
